| Description |
This year National Work Zone Awareness Week is being held April 4–8, 2011 and the theme will be "Safer driving. Safer work zones. For everyone." At least 80 percent of people killed in work zones are motorists and passengers traveling through a work zone. Many factors, including work zone set-up can negatively impact their own safety as well as the safety of the workers.
For more information about NWZAW's National Kickoff Event, please visit the FHWA's Operations website.
New Jersey's 12th Annual Work Zone Safety Awareness Conference will promote work zone safety awareness with a multidisciplinary panel on the role of contractors when an emergency occurs in or near an active work zone, as well as a discussion on best practices for nighttime work zone set-up. An afternoon interactive roundtable discussion on recent case studies will help you improve work zone safety practices.
Hosted by the New Jersey Local Technical Assistance Program (NJ LTAP) in cooperation with the New Jersey Work Zone Safety Awareness.
