SUMMARY:NJDHTS - Traffic Enforcement & Engagement Acuity (In-Person Passaic)
DESCRIPTION:Course Description:\nThis course was developed with support from the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety (DHTS). Hosted by Rutgers Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT)\, this full-day course is designed to address Traffic Safety through Enforcement and Professional Engagement with the motoring public. \nT.E.E.A. will break down the component parts of a traffic stop by first addressing the acuity of the Officer as is relates to the Motor Vehicle Code in New Jersey. This will be followed by exploring the proper\, safe and professional way to conduct a motor vehicle stop by first identifying violations\, selecting a safe location to effectuate the stop\, notifying dispatch of the pertinent information and following department policies\, approaching the vehicle safely and the critically important professional engagement with the operator to address the infraction(s).
