SUMMARY:Police Work Zone Safety Refresher (Webinar)
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: \nWhether you’re new to the force or a veteran officer\, there will be times when you are assigned to enforce safety laws in work zones for long-term or short-term projects. There is no room for error when working next to traffic\, so it’s important for officers controlling traffic in work zones to understand and comply with MUTCD work zone safety standards. \nThis course provides a review of the 2023 Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and includes a brief overview of federal changes\, worker safety considerations\, sign placement\, and special considerations for local and state roadways. \nThis course does not replace the Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) Program or the Police Work Zone Train-the-Trainer course. \nThis course is intended for law enforcement officers who have previously completed the 3 or 4-day Police Work Zone Safety Train-the-Trainer course or the 1-day Work Zone Safety Awareness for Local Police workshop; it is not an alternative to the Traffic Control Coordinator Refresher course. \nLearning Objectives:  \n\nUnderstand the role of State & local police in work zones\nReview 2023 MUTCD requirements in work zones\nIdentify OSHA requirements in work zones\n\nIntended Audience: \nLaw enforcement officers \nPre-Requisites: \nAttended one or both of the following classes: Work Zone Safety Train-the-Trainer for Police or Work Zone Safety Awareness for Police \nCredits: \nNone \nPresenters: \nChief.
