  • September 13, 2022September 15, 2022
  • 8:00 am–4:00 pm

Please note: The registration deadline for this program is September 1, 2022 at 12 noon.
This is a 3 day program with exam.  Full attendance is required to receive credit and a TCC designation provided you have met all the below listed prerequisites.

This 3-day course with exam is designed for experienced highway work zone personnel who seek training in work zone traffic control. NJDOT and other agencies require a contractor to assign a supervisory-level employee with requisite onsite experience to act as the Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) on roadway construction projects.. For those seeking to increase their work zone safety and traffic control knowledge but do not require the TCC designation, it is recommended to attend the Work Zone Safety Awareness workshop instead. Participants who successfully complete this course will be eligible to serve as TCC and shall have the responsibility and authority to implement and maintain all traffic operations for the project. Upon successful completion of the 3-day course and submission of all prerequisite documentation, a TCC wallet card will be issued. Those who do not provide prerequisite documentation are only eligible for a course certificates of attendance with applicable PDH credit.

The course covers standard work zone protection as specified in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Sessions on OSHA, NJDOT, and state police relationships and work zone traffic control liability issues are included.

Prerequisites
You must show proof of having successfully completed a Work Zone Safety Awareness Program or Flagger Training Workshop, and proof of 4,000 hours (100 weeks) field experience in highway work zones.

The required documentation is a certificate or letter of completion from the training sponsor and a letter from past and/or present employer on employment verification. This information needs to be uploaded at the time of registration.

If you do not meet the prerequisites, and still wish to attend the program, you may register choosing the “Engineers and Inspectors without pre-requisites” option. You will receive a certificate of attendance only, not the TCC designation digital card required by NJDOT for the Traffic Control Coordinator designation. Please note that digital cards and certificates will not be issued if the course fees are delinquent and/or any course prerequisites have not been fulfilled.
