SUMMARY:**Class Full** Traffic Control Coordinator Program (In-Person)
DESCRIPTION:This is a 3-day program with exam.  Full attendance is required to receive attendance credit. TCC designation is offered to those who meet the attendance requirement\, pass the exam\, and provide the below listed prerequisites. \nCourse Description:\nThis 3-day program with exam is designed for experienced highway work zone personnel who seek training in work zone traffic control. NJDOT and other agencies require a contractor to assign a supervisory-level employee with requisite onsite experience to act as the Traffic Control Coordinator (TCC) on roadway construction projects. \nFor those seeking to increase their work zone safety and traffic control knowledge but do not require the TCC designation\, it is recommended to attend the Work Zone Safety Awareness workshop instead. Participants who successfully complete this course will be eligible to serve as TCC and shall have the responsibility and authority to implement and maintain all traffic operations for the project. Upon successful completion of the 3-day course and submission of all prerequisite documentation\, a digital TCC card will be issued. Those who do not provide prerequisite documentation are only eligible for a  course certificate of attendance with applicable PDH credit. \nThe course covers standard work zone protection as specified in the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD). Sessions on OSHA\, NJDOT\, and State Police relationships and work zone traffic control liability issues are included. \nClass Schedule:\nDay 1: The MUTCD (Part VI) / Local Law Enforcement in Work Zones\nDay 2: NJ DOT Projects / Municipal v. State Roadways (State Police) / New Jersey Turnpike Authority Operations\nDay 3: OSHA / Legal Liabilities / Online Exam \nLearning Objectives: \n\nUnderstand MUTCD requirements in work zones\nDistinguish differences between the MUTCD and DOT projects\nIdentify DOT standards and specifications requirements in required work zones\nLearn New Jersey Turnpike Authority & OSHA requirements in work zones\nUnderstand the role of State and Local Police in work zones\n\nTo successfully complete this course\, you must: \n\nAttend all three days\, from 8a-4p\, which will contain several breaks\nPass an online exam with a minimum proficiency score of 70% (applicable if seeking the TCC designation)\nUpload prerequisite documents upon registration or at a later date (applicable if seeking the TCC designation)\nPay the course fee\nComplete an online survey at the conclusion of training\n\nPrerequisites:\nIn order to obtain a TCC designation card\, you must meet the prerequisites\, as follows: \n\nProof of successful completion of a Work Zone Safety Awareness Program or Flagger Training Workshop. We require this be in the form of a certificate or letter of completion from the training sponsor.\nA signed letter from a past and/or present employer stating you have 4000+ hours of field experience in highway work zones. We require this letter be on company letter head and signed by a supervisor.\n\n**We ask that\, if possible\, you upload the prerequisite documents at the time of registration** \nYou may register for the program even if you do not have the prerequisites ready.
