Dr. Vassiliki Demetracopoulou is an Assistant Professor at Rutgers University and an affiliated researcher at the Center for Advanced Infrastructure and Transportation (CAIT). Her research focuses on project delivery, risk management and strategic decision-making for infrastructure projects, and she was recently featured in NCIT’s December newsletter.
Dr. Demetracopoulou received her Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin (2023) in the area of Construction Engineering and Project Management and her Diploma in Civil Engineering from the University of Patras, Greece (2017). She holds a Professional Engineer’s license in Greece. During her doctoral studies, she engaged in projects funded by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and the Construction Industry Institute (CII).
At Rutgers, she is currently working on identifying delivery challenges of infrastructure projects as they relate to social, environmental, and financial systems. She is also leading research incorporating equity metrics into transportation asset management through a project with the National Center for Infrastructure Transformation (NCIT).
NCIT is a national-tier University Transportation Center (UTC) led by Prairie View A&M University and including Rutgers CAIT.
