What is this tool?
The free, publicly-available tool assists in data collection and supports decision-making regarding the selection, design, procurement, and evaluation of ITS systems for construction and maintenance projects.
How can I access the tool?
The tool is available at no charge through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Open Source Application Development Portal (OSDAP).
How does the tool operate?
The tool operates as a standalone executable program designed to run on individual workstations with Java SE Runtime Environment version 8.0 or later. The installation package comes with a user guide that provides detailed instructions for installation and operation.
How can I learn more?
FHWA will be conducting regional demonstration workshops to encourage the widespread adoption of both the tool and the systematic process for WZITS decision-making. These workshops will provide information on the background of the WZITS Implementation Guide and how agencies can get started using the tool.
- Northeast Regional Workshop: April 25 – Boston, MA
- Southeast Regional Workshop: May 9 – Garner, NC
