  Description: This session will help identify the standards/guidelines for the installation of pavement markings, understand the basic guidelines for sign usage, and the method of installation, in accordance with the MUTCD and how to appropriately use the reasons or warrants for proper sign selection.

  Title: An Introduction to NJ’s Traffic Incident Management Program
  Description: This session will provide an overview of Traffic Incident Management (TIM) and the coordinated program institutionalized in New Jersey. Traffic incidents are unplanned roadway events that affect or impede the normal flow of traffic; they increase the likelihood of secondary crashes and pose a threat to the safety of incident responders as well as the traveling public. Incidents affect travel reliability, commerce, and transportation system performance. One of the essential responsibilities of transportation and public safety agencies is to ensure the safe and quick clearance of traffic incidents.
  Traffic Incident Management (TIM) consists of a planned and coordinated multi-disciplinary process to detect, respond to, and clear traffic incidents so that traffic flow may be restored as safely and quickly as possible. Effective TIM reduces the duration and impacts of traffic incidents; improves the safety of motorists, crash victims, and emergency responders; and reduces the frequency of secondary crashes.

  Title: Basic Work Zone Safety for Road Departments
  Description: This workshop will introduce municipal and county public works and utilities participants to an overview of working safely in the roadway. As new or veteran employees enter or re-enter the public works profession, they are frequently required to set up short-term work zones or are assigned to long-term projects. There are no allowances for errors when working next to traffic, so it is important for personnel to have a solid understanding of work zone safety compliance with the national MUTCD standards.
