This course covers the examination of drainage problems, properties and effects of soil and subsurface water, and how to maintain, inspect, and install culverts among many other drainage issues.

Executive Director Joann Gemenden will provide an update on the New Jersey Clean Communities program, a statewide, comprehensive, litter-abatement program created by the passage of the Clean Communities Act in 1986.

The training covers topics including TIM guidelines, fundamentals, and terminology; notifications and scene size up; scene safety and risk management; traffic management; special circumstances; clearance; and termination.

This course provides participants with (1) a basic understanding of intersection safety issues, (2) “how to” information for common safety tasks and low cost safety improvements that do not require an engineered design, and (3) background information on safety tasks that do not require an engineer.

Conducting Traffic Sign Retroreflectivity Inspection will provide online training for field inspectors to perform traffic sign retroreflectivity inspection using the approved methods by the FHWA for agencies responsible for sign maintenance.

Do you need to know when, where, and how to place things such as speed bumps or signage to slow down traffic on your local roadways? Traffic calming uses physical design and other measures to improve safety for motorists, pedestrians and cyclists.

This course will review basic concepts in probability and statistics and their application in designing traffic control features and regulating traffic.
