The primary goal of this proposal is to investigate the stated definitions of equity in transportation and the current plans, statements, and goals that consider eliminating inequity and unfair distribution of benefits. The study aims to develop an evaluation technique to assess maintaining equity principles in transportation planning and construction processes and incorporate them into decision-making.
The intended outcome of the project is to help transportation agencies across the country consolidate transportation equity by considering the different types of equity, its impact categories, measurement methods, and the different type of people. The implementation of the proposed research will promote adopting more equitable, environmentally friendly, and affordable mobility.
