NJLTAP – Basic Math and Plan Reading (In-Person)

Course Description:
This course provides an overview on basic math skills related to construction inspection and road maintenance, as well as how to locate information within a set of plans. The workshop is also good for those wanting a refresher. Math basics will be covered, as well as calculating length, area, volume, and quantities such as those in real world situations on public works projects.
Topics will include reading notes, determining quantities and understanding typography, basic Geometry, area and volume.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand common types of site plans used in public works projects
- Learn typical math equations used in estimating materials and how to calculate quantities
Intended Audience:
Local and state roadway agencies – road foreman, inspectors and crew leaders
