Marv Halling is an associate professor of civil engineering and division head of structural engineering at Utah State University. He also serves as the associate director of the Utah Transportation Center at Utah State University, which is a member of the Tier I UTC Consortium led by CAIT.
His research interests include structural health monitoring, damage detection, and post-earthquake reconnaissance investigation. He is a member of the ASCE Seismic Effects Committee and the Structural Health Monitoring Committee.
Halling is a licensed professional engineer in California and Utah; he also holds a structural engineering (S.E.) license in Utah. He earned his master’s in civil engineering at Stanford University and received his doctorate in applied mechanics from the California Institute of Technology.
