This five-day course is designed for law enforcement officers that have successfully completed the Work Zones Safety Train-the-Trainer for Police class sponsored by the New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety and administered by Rutgers CAIT.

The Instructor Development Course (IDC) will provide the law enforcement officer with the tools, skills and abilities to present work zone safety training material to fellow officers in a professional and competent manner that fosters learning and understanding of the principles and concepts outlined in the work zone safety program.

Course content will include the diverse ways that people learn and the variety of methods to convey course material to an audience. Training resources and the documentation of those resources will be explored along with how to develop a lesson plan and measure your audience’s retention of the material through performance objectives and test item construction.
