This class has been postponed until further notice.

Whether on a rural roadside or a town’s streetscape, vegetation and trees must be maintained. This course covers the importance of vegetation control and various methods that can be used in an efficient program. It discusses manual, mechanical, and chemical control methods, along with common maintenance practices and concerns.

This course covers safety standards relating to all types of mowing equipment, brush-clearing tools, and other tools used in ground maintenance. Primary goals are to provide awareness of the hazards associated with equipment and to identify safe work practices.

Intended Audience: Public works employees in charge of managing roadside vegetation programs and those interested in roadside vegetation control should attend.
