NJLTAP Director’s Message

This is the last e-newsletter of the year, and with that we would like to reflect on our Top Five list of 2019:

  1. Providing two well-attended education sessions at the New Jersey League of Municipalities Conference
  2. Training over 2,500 public works and engineering personnel
  3. Working with the NJDOT and FHWA Division Office on a new local road safety workshop for 2020
  4. Hosting the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic Region LTAP Meeting
  5. Serving on the State Transportation Innovation Council, the winner of FHWA’s 2019 STIC Excellence Award!

We are looking forward to 2020 and have already begun scheduling training sessions to meet the needs of our stakeholders. Please keep a look out for some new workshop topics, including Title VI compliance training.

Some transportation agencies are choosing innovative solutions to better manage adverse weather conditions on their roadways--saving lives and enhancing mobility.

The holiday season brings a number of unique driving risks. During this time of year, there can be difficult weather conditions, limited daylight, and drivers in unfamiliar areas. Here are five ways you can drive safely and smartly this holiday season.

Partnering with the National Association of County Engineers (NACE) and the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP), municipalities and counties have begun develping a plan to deliver a pilot program designed to help selected counties develop local road safety plans (LRSPs).
